Pioneers Splits With Cannon Co In Basketball

The Warren County basketball teams traveled to Cannon County Saturday night in a non district match up. They boys came away with a 46 to 43 win. The Lady Pioneers lost 59 to 44.

The Lady Pioneers held onto a three point lead at halftime but were outscored by 18 points in the second half.

Beth Vaughn led Warren County in scoring with 11 points and Shelby Smart scored 10 points.

The Warren County boys found themselves in a dog fight throughout the contest against Cannon County. The game was tied at halftime and Warren County trailed by three at the start of the fourth quarter. Defensively the Pioneers allowed only six fourth quarter points to give them a 46 to 43 victory over Cannon County.

Lacedric Cox scored a team high 10 points for Warren County. CJ Taylor followed closely with nine points and Irving Espinoza tallied eight points.

Both the boys and girls play again Monday night against Livingston Academy Monday night in McMinnville.
