Warren County Baseball Floating Around .500

The Pioneers are not where coach Phillip King would like them to be.

They are however, in a place where they could mount a turnaround and be a special squad.

Coach King was clear in our conversation that he feels this is a team with a lot of potential, it will just take consistency. A better job turning over the bottom part of the lineup, more aggressive two strike approaches, and certainly rest as they have played several games in several days, and will continue to do so, as will everyone, thanks to weather cramming the final month or so of the season into just a few weeks.

Maybe the most interesting part of our conversation, was the final question however. When we stepped away from the diamond, and coach King put his co-AD hat on to comment on a man he is extremely familiar with from his time many years ago at Franklin County; Kyle Turnham.

I asked coach King his thoughts on coach Turnham being hired, and what people should expect from him coming up this summer, and of course as the school starts anew in august.
