Cavaliers Sweep DeKalb Co In Smithville

Both Cookeville Cavaliers basketball teams cam away victorious Saturday night in Smithville. The Cookeville girls won 59 to 23 and the Cookeville Cavaliers boys teams won 63 to 53.

The Lady Cavs owned a 20 to 14 halftime lead. Defensively Cookeville stiffened out of halftime and held DeKalb County to one third quarter point.

KK Graves led the Lady Cavs in scoring with 10 points.  Graves was one of nine Lady Cavaliers who scored points on Saturday. Cassie Shope added nine points for Cookeville.

Emme Colwell led DeKalb County in scoring with 10 points as well. Kadee Ferrell added in five points for the Lady Tigers.

In the boys contest, Cookeville saw four player score in double digits, on their way to a 10 point victory.

Cookeville’s Bailey Gilliam lead both teams in scoring with 18 points. Lucas Reeves, Zack Hall, and Kosta Bikakis all scored 10 points for the Cavaliers.

Dakota White led Dekalb County in scoring with 15 points and Dallas Cook contributed 13.

DeKalb County plays again Tuesday night against White County in Smithville at 6 P.M.

Cookeville will host York Tuesday night at 6 P.M.
