Pickett Co Boys Defend Home Court Against Blue Devils

Pickett County’s boys basketball team beat Jackson County 73 to 63 Tuesday night in Byrdstown.

The Bobcats owned a 47 to 46 lead at the end of the third quarter. Pickett County would outscore tje Blue Devils by nine in the fourth to put the game away.

Zach Amonett led all scorers with 28 points. Amonett had a perfect night from the free throw line as he knocked down all 13 of his tries. Amonett also finished the night with six assist and five boards.

John Parker Regan added 16 points for Pickett County and Will Amonett dropped in 13 points with five assist as well.

Jacob Hardy led the Blue Devils with 19 points and Eli Burris added 18 points of his own. Ramon Cuvas rounded out the double digit scorers for Jackson County with 14 points.

The loss drops Jackson County to 7-10, 1-5 on the season and the Blue Devils will play again this Friday night against Trousdale County at home.

The Bobcats improve to 11-7, 3-4 with the win. Pickett County plays again Friday night on the road against Monterey.
