Lady Tigers Defeat Van Buren Co In Basketball

After a slow first quarter for both teams, the DeKalb County Lady Tigers beat the Van Buren County Eaglettes 65 to 31 Tuesday night in Spencer.

Emme Colwell led all scores with 13 points. Mya Ruch and Megan Cantrell both scored 12 points for DeKalb County.

Kadee Ferrell added 10 pints for the Lady Tigers while Megan Walker and Kenzie France both added five points each.

Summer Crook and Madison Martin finished out the scoring with four points each for DeKalb County.

DeKalb County finished 9 of 11 from the charity stripe and they knocked down 12 three’s.

Emily Allen led the way scoring for Van Buren County with eight points, teammate Chloe Hillis scored six points.

The Eaglettes Layla Bouldin tallied five points and Desarai Baker scored four points.

Gabby Young, Emma Scoggins, Jadeah McCurry, and Greta Rigsby each scored two points a piece.

Van Buren County made 9 0f 18 free throws and only made two three’s on the night.

The Lady Eaglettes hit the road Thursday, for the first time this season, as they travel to Boyd Buchanan at 5 P.M. and DeKalb County plays this Saturday in their home opener   against Pickett County at 4 P.M.
