Lady Bulldogs Fall Just Short Against Cloudland

The Clay County Lady Bulldogs missed a three-pointer at the buzzer on Friday and fell just short against Cloudland by a final score of 52-50.

A day after Rachel Copass knocked down a shot to win the game for Clay County, Katie Arms’ last-second attempt was just off in the final frame.

Clay held a 9-5 lead after one, but struggled on defense in the second and were out-scored 16-11 to go into half down one.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 38-35 heading into the fourth, and even took a 50-49 lead on a Arms’ free throw, but the comeback fell just short in the end.

Arms led Clay with 15 points, while Copass and Marlee Ashlock each added nine points.

Clay will finish up play in the Sergeant York Christmas Invitational on Saturday.
