Fall Break Creates Shortage of Upper Cumberland Football Games in Week 8

With several county school systems on ‘Fall Break’ this week, many area football coaches set their team schedules up to coincide with the break, prior to the season. Six schools in the Upper Cumberland region are taking their ‘bye’ this week, leaving only four games on the local slate for Week 8.

None of those games may be bigger than Livingston Academy’s trip over to Crossville to take on Region 4-4A foe, Cumberland County. The Wildcats (0-7) are hungry for their first win of the season, and this week may provide the best remaining opportunity – albeit not an easy one. Cumberland County is much improved in Coach Noah Repasky’s second season, having ended a handful of dubious streaks within the first few games of the season. The Jets (3-4) still have a thread of hope for a playoff berth – they must win out and have some help – but the possibility at least exists.

After Friday night’s game in Crossville, Livingston Academy closes out their season with Watertown and Upperman, both of which have been ranked in the top ten of their respective classifications throughout much of the season.
