Cookeville Sweeps Road Contests In McMinnville

The Cookeville Cavaliers got two big non-district wins tonight on the road at Warren County. The Lady Cavs first picked up the win 58-52 to improve to 8-1 on the season. Senior Jordan Gillies led the way with 22 points, six rebounds and four assists. On the boys side, the Cavs were victorious 64-55. Jack Oakley and Josh Heard both had 21 points in the win.

The Livingston Academy Wildcats both got district wins over the Macon County Tigers tonight. The Lady Wildcats won 62-38. Ellie Butler led the way with 24. Mallie-Gene Coleman had 9 points, five assists and five steals on the night. The boys won 57-36 and only allowed two points in the first quarter. Wyatt Hargis led the team for the third straight game; he finished with 15.

Elsewhere around UC Sports Nation, the Monterey Wildcats both picked up wins on the road at Midway. Girls won 47-36 while the boys won 80-42. Jackson County girls got a win over Trousdale County 57-30. York Institute on top of Clay County 52-30 on the girls side. Upperman girls picked up another win down in Florida. White County girls beat Van Buren County 72-40.

On the boys side of things, Jackson County over Trousdale County 54-29. York Institute handed Clay County their second loss of the season with a final score of 67-54. White County topped Van Buren County 67-49.
