DeKalb Co. Closes Season With Win Over Cumberland Co.

The DeKalb County Tigers (6-4) finished their regular season with a 41-6 win over the Cumberland County Jets (0-10).

Quarterback Axel Aldino got the scoring started when he found Evan Jones for a 15-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Later in the frame, Nathanael Crook ran the ball in from one yard out to give the Tigers a 14-o lead.

Cumberland got on the board with a 27-yard run from Ronald Martin in the second quarter, but it was the only time they found the endzone in the game.

Crook and Aldino combined for four more touchdowns to put the final score at 41-6.

Aldino finished 6-13 passing for 117 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Aldino also finished with 89 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

Crook finished with 206 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.

On Cumberland’s side, Trevor Parsons and Braden Tollett finished a combined 2-9 passing for 37 yards and an interception.

Parsons led the way on the ground with 57 yards on 12 carries.

DeKalb will begin its run in the postseason next week, when it hosts Tullahoma at 7 P.M.
