Ashlock’s Double-Double Leads Bulldogs Over Gordonsville
The Clay County Bulldogs won the District 6A Championship on Tuesday by a final score of 59-44.
Clay took control of the game in the first quarter, as they built a 22-10 lead heading into the second frame. After out-scoring Gordonsville by four, they held a 16-point lead at the break.
Another successful frame saw the lead grow even further, and when the final buzzer sounded, the Bulldogs lifted the trophy with a 59-44 win.
Senior Jake Ashlock led the way with a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Mason Sharp added 16 points. Both of them, along with Gunnar Silk and Jeff Spivey were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Grant Strong was named the Tournament MVP.
