Bees Win Third Consecutive District Title In Win Over York

The Upperman Bees took down the York Institute Dragons on Tuesday by a final score of 70-47.

York put up a battle early in the game, as three first-quarter threes from Riley Cooper had them within three of the lead after the first quarter.

The battle continued into the second, where Upperman only out-scored York 12-10 to take the five-point lead into half.

The third quarter proved to be the biggest difference in the game, as the Bees’ defense forced tough shots and multiple turnovers en route to taking a 17-point lead into the final frame. They coasted from there, and when all was said and done, the Bees became a three-peat District Champion with a 70-47 win over York.

Tournament MVP Collin Gore led all scorers with 21 points, while Alex Rush added 16 points. Donoven McCallister scored 13 points off the bench.

Cooper led York with 16 points, while Roger Meadows scored 12.
