21 Point Fourth Quarter Pushes Van Buren Past Wildcats

After three quarters of play in Spenser, the Van Buren County Eaglettes held a 39-36 advantage over the Monterey Wildcats. Van Buren County outscored Monterey 21-16 over the final quarter to edge out the Lady Wildcats 60-52.

Van Buren County’s Gabby Young led the Eaglettes in scoring with 12 points. Riley Scoggins and Emily Allen each scored 11 points.

Van Buren County hit 10 three’s and 12-17 free throws against the Lady Wildcats.

Anna Hudson and Faith Walker each scored 14 points each for Monterey. Lindsey Wright added eight points. Katelynn Morehead and Mackenzie Raleigh each scored seven points.

Monterey hit 10-18 free throws and six shots from behind the arch.

Van Buren County plays Thursday night at Sequatchie County at 6 P.M.

Monterey hits the hardwood again Thursday night as well against the Warriors form White County.
