Tuesday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Dragonettes Make Statement In Win Over Macon

York Institute 52, Macon County 32

The York Institute Dragonettes earned a statement win on Tuesday by defeating Macon County by a final score of 52-32.

This is Macon County’s first loss since Nov. 25, 2019, and York’s first win over the Tigerettes since Jan. 20, 2017.

Haylee Johnson led all scorers with 17 points, while Laci Patton added nine points.

Clarkrange 68, Gordonsville 27

The Lady Buffaloes took down Gordonsville on Tuesday by a final score of 68-27.

Kassie Monday led all scorers with 14 points, and fellow Senior Chloe Howard scored 13.

Clarkrange jumped out to a 25-5 lead at the end of the first quarter, and they held Gordonsville scoreless in the second quarter to take a 43-5 to the locker room at half.

The Lady Buffaloes will take on Red Boiling Springs on Friday.

Stone Memorial 82, Rhea County 33

The Lady Panthers opened district play on Tuesday with a dominant 82-33 win over Rhea County.

Katie Adkisson played one of her best games of the year, as she scored a game-high 17 points to lead Stone. Annah Goss added 15, and Tessa Miller scored 14 points. Skylar Dishman was the last player in double figures with 11.

The Lady Panthers will be back in action on Friday against Warren County.

White County 83, Warren County 47

Senior Gracie Dodgen scored a game-high 24 points to lead White County over the Lady Pioneers on Tuesday.

Morgan Quick added 15 points, while Nia Powers scored 13 points. Mia Murray scored 11 points.

The Warriorettes took a 22-9 led at the end of the first quarter, and they closed the game by outscoring the Lady Pioneers 26-8 in the fourth quarter.

White County hosts Cookeville on Friday, while Warren will take on Stone Memorial.

Upperman 79, DeKalb County 52

The Lady Bees opened the game on a 13-0 run and battled through a Lady Tiger run in the third quarter to take home a 79-52 win.

Reagan Hurst led the way with 16 points, followed behind by Brooklyn Crouch’s 12. Abigail Johnson added a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Aiyana Levy and Torie Brooks each scored 11.

Madison Martin led DeKalb County with 13 points, while Ella Van Vranken scored 12 points.

Upperman hosts Cannon County on Friday, while DeKalb County plays at Macon County.

Clay County 56, Red Boiling Springs 44

Clay County took an early 11-point lead on Tuesday, and used their defense to earn a 56-44 win over Red Boiling springs.

The Lady Bulldogs pushed the lead as high 17 at one point, and it never dropped below double figures after the first quarter.

Katie Arms led all with 20 points, while Eliza Jenkins added 16.

Clay County will take on Gordonsville on Friday.
