Tuesday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Brooks Hits 11 Threes To Lead Lady Bees To Win

Upperman 89, North Jackson 30

Torie Brooks scored a game-high 37 points with 11 three-pointers made to lead the Upperman Lady Bees over North Jackson by a final score of 89-30.

Reagan Hurst added 17 points in the win, while Aiyana Levy scored 12 points of her own.

The Lady Bees will be back in action on Wednesdays, as they take on Madison Academy (AL) in the State Farm Classic at Riverdale.

White County 79, Brookwood 12

The White County Warriorettes put together another excellent defensive showing in a 79-12 win over Brookwood.

The most points the Warriorettes allowed in a quarter was five in the fourth frame, and they allowed a single point in the first quarter.

Freshman Celeste Reed led the way with 16 points for her best showing of the season, while Gracie Dodgen scored 14 points. Nia Powers and Morgan Quick each scored 12 points, while Mia Murray scored 11.

Addison Frazier dished 11 assists, and has 21 total assists in the last two games.

White County will take on Choctawhatchee (FL) on Wednesday for their next game.

Stone Memorial 62, Grainger 49

Another dominant game from Tessa Miller equaled another win for the Lady Panthers, as they toppled Grainger 62-49.

Stone jumped out to a 13-4 lead after one, and held a 31-15 advantage at the end of the first half. That lead grew to 17 points by the end of the third and though Grainger would cut into the lead in the final stanza, they never got it to single digits.

Miller scored 24 points to lead the way, while Annah Goss added 14 points. Katie Adkisson scored 12 points of her own.

Stone Memorial has a marquee matchup on Wednesday, as they will take on Maryville.

York Institute 48, Kingston 36

The Dragonettes got a balanced scoring effort from up and down the roster on Tuesday, leading to a 48-36 win over Kingston.

York scored 12 points in each quarter, and they were only outscored in the second frame by a single point.

Gabby Beaty led all scorers with 13 points, while Mikaela Reagan scored 10 points.

The Dragonettes’ next scheduled contest is on Saturday when they take on DeKalb County.

Pickett County 64, Jackson County 26

The middle frames proved to be the difference in the Lady Bobcats’ 64-26 win over Jackson County on Tuesday.

Leading 13-8 after one, Pickett County used a 37-12 advantage over the next two quarters to run away with the victory.

Shayla Wood scored 13 points to lead all scorers, while Chloe Burton added 11.

Jackson County’s Emma Crockett and Rylee Anderson scored five points apiece.

Jackson County will be back in action on Jan. 4 when they take on Van Buren, while Pickett County will take part in the Big South Fork Christmas Tournament on Wednesday.

Livingston Academy 63, Fairview 48

The Lady Cats used a big run over the second and third quarters to earn a victory over Fairview by a final score of 63-48.

Leading 14-10, Livingston outscored Fairview 32-21 over following two frames to take control of the game.

Aleah Melton led all with 12 points, while Leah-Kate Clark scored 10 points.

The Lady Cats will face Clarksville Academy on Wednesday.

Macon County 56, Cookeville 53

The Cookeville Lady Cavs fell just short on Tuesday to perennial Class 2A power Macon County by a final score of 56-53.

Cassie Gallagher led the team with 20 points, while fellow sophomore Jordan Gillies had 11 points. Emma Webb added nine of her own.

The Lady Cavs held a 41-36 win heading into the fourth, but the Tigerettes outscored them in that frame by a 20-12 tally to take home the win.

Cookeville will face Mount Notre Dame (OH) on Wednesday.

Cumberland County 48, Chattanooga Christian School 29
