Tuesday Night Boys Hoops Recap: Amonett’s 20 Leads Pickett Co Over Jackson Co

Pickett County 52, Jackson County 45

The Pickett County Bobcats returned to action on Tuesday with a 52-45 win over Jackson County.

Jackson County jumped out to an early nine-point lead, and led 27-20 at halftime, but it was the Bobcats who won the second half by a 32-18 count to take the victory.

Zach Amonett led all scorers with 20 points for Pickett County, while Hunter Wattenbarger added 11 points.

Eli Burris led the Blue Devils with 17 points, and Ramon Cuevas added 12 points.

Jackson County will be back in action on Monday when they take on Van Buren, while Pickett County will part in the Big South Fork Christmas Tournament on Wednesday.

Stone Memorial 62, Jefferson County 60

A big night from Zach Boyd and clutch defensive stops late led the Stone Memorial Panthers to their second straight win, this one a 62-60 win over Jefferson County.

Stone’s biggest advantage came in the third quarter, where they outscored Jefferson County 15-9 to take a 47-44 lead into the fourth quarter. Though they were outscored 16-15 in said frame, they got the needed stops late to hold on for the victory.

Zach Boyd led the Panthers with 25 points, while Dylan Whittenburg scored 10 points.

The Panthers will face Maryville on Wednesday.

Upperman 55, Chattanooga Christian 36

The Bees build upon their wins on Monday with a 55-36 win over Chattanooga Christian on Tuesday.

Alex Rush scored a game-high 24 points, and Collin Gore added 15 points.

Jaxon Fox scored eight points in the win as well.

The Bees won’t take the floor again until Jan. 5, as they have a district date with the Livingston Academy Wildcats

Ravenwood 64, Livingston Academy 42

Speaking of those Wildcats, they fell to another tough opponent on Tuesday in Ravenwood by a final score of 64-42.

After trailing by five through a quarter of play, the Wildcats fell behind by 10 at halftime, and trailed by 14 after the third.

Matthew Sells led the team with 16 points.

The Wildcats will face Center Hill on Wednesday.

Cookeville 82, Dunnellon (FL) 46

The Cavaliers bounced back from their tough loss to Buford (GA) on Monday with a dominant 82-46 win over Dunnellon (FL) on Tuesday.

Collin Gilliam led a balanced attack with 14 points, while Windle Oakley followed close behind with 13. Tre Monette added 12 points, and Lucas Reeves scored 10.

The Cavaliers will take on Grace Academy (MS) on Wednesday.

White County 75, J.R. Arnold (FL) 60
