Today In UC Sports Nation: Lady Cavs Begin Play In State Tournament

The Cookeville Lady Cavs begin their third consecutive march towards a State Tournament on Tuesday, as they take on Science Hill at Siegel High School at noon.

The Lady Cavs Soccer team is also in action tonight, as they will host Walker Valley in the opening round of the Region Tournament. They, along with our three other remaining teams, have a berth in the Substate round on the line as well, as the runner-ups and region champs all qualify for Sectionals.

The Livingston Academy Lady Cats will kick-off at 6 P.M. as well, as they host Scott. The Lady Cats are coming off of a 3-2 win over Cumberland County, and one player to watch is Jena Harris, who’s scored 7 goals in the last four games for LA.

Warren County and Cumberland County will both be on the road for Region play, as the Lady Pioneers will take on McMinn County. The Lady Jets will play Kingston, a team they fell to by a final score of 3-1 earlier in the season.
