This Week In Golf Across UC Sports Nation

Golf season is in its final week across UC Sports Nation this week with the Large Class State Tournament at WillowBrook Golf and Country Club in Manchester. Cookeville and Livingston Academy have golfers to compete this week.

Cookeville boys team made it as a team with their win in last Tuesday’s region tournament win at the Cleveland Country Club. Lexus Julian, of Cookeville also qualified as an individual on the girls side.

White County’s Jarrett Glass shot the low round of the day at the Cleveland Country with a -2 to win the overall individual medalist. Warren County’s Lauren Slatten also qualified for state at the Cleveland Country Club as the overall individual medalist with a one under 71. Slatten also won a playoff hole to take the top spot.

Hayden Ledbetter of Livingston Academy battled back after a four over front nine, to force a playoff with a low round on the back nine. Ledbetter won a playoff hole against two other golfers to qualify for state.

All of the golfers will take to WillowBrook on Monday for a practice round. Round one of the State Tournament will take place Tuesday, with Round two to take place on Wednesday.
