Sells’ 24 Not Enough, Wildcats Fall To DeKalb

Matthew Sells continued his stellar start to the season by pouring in 24 points for Livingston Academy, but it wasn’t enough as the DeKalb County Tigers won by a final score of 65-55.

Aubrey Hollars added nine for LA, while Nathan Carwile scored eight points. Will McDonald scored seven points as well.

The Tigers’ offense got off to a roaring start in the first quarter when they scored 26 points and held a 12-point lead after the opening frame. Livingston battled back in the second, when they cut the lead down to one at 31-30 at the break.

DeKalb took control of the game in the third, when they stretched a one-point halftime lead into an 11-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The win snapped a six-game losing streak for DeKalb, who will take on Lebanon in their next game on Dec. 19.

LA will take on Pikeville on the same day in the Smokey Mountain Classic in Gatlinburg.
