Lady Cats Down DeKalb At Home

The Livingston Academy Lady Cats defeated the DeKalb County Lady Tigers on Tuesday by a final score of 53-49.

The DeKalb offense struggled in the opening quarter, as they only scored nine points. This allowed LA to take a five-point lead heading into the second.

Emily Gean led the way for Livingston, as she nailed three three-pointers in the first half for all nine of her points. When the buzzer sounded for the half, the Lady Cats held a 30-20 lead.

DeKalb’s defense locked down LA in the third, and cut the led down to eight heading into the fourth. The Lady Tigers continued their improved play on offense in the fourth, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Lady Cats took home a 53-49 victory.

Gean’s nine led the way for Livingston, while Hailey Cronk, Hannah Hammons and Keaton Webb each added eight.

DeKalb will be back in action on Dec. 19 when they take on Lebanon, while Livingston will head to Gatlinburg for the Smokey Mountain Classic.
