Monday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Miller Leads Stone Memorial Over Alcoa

Stone Memorial 58, Alcoa 48

The Stone Memorial Lady Panthers returned to action on Monday with a 10-point win over Alcoa.

Tessa Miller led all scorers with 21 points, 12 of which came in the first and fourth quarters.

Skylar Dishman, Mattie Buck and Annah Goss each added eight points of their own.

The Lady Panthers have a quick turnaround, as they take on Grainger on Tuesday.

Cumberland County 48, Central Magnet 33

The Lady Jets continued their winning ways, as they defeated Central Magnet on Monday by a final score of 48-33.

Emery Baragona led the Lady Jets with 14 points, while Abby Houston added 13.

This is their sixth win in seven games, and their record now sits at 8-7 after they started 1-5.

The Lady Jets will continue play in the Holiday Border Battle at South Pittsburg on Tuesday.

White County 77, Marianna 30

A fast start in the first half led to a dominant win for White County on Monday, as they defeated Marianna 77-30.

Leading 23-9 after one, the Warriorettes outscored Marianna 24-11 in the second to take a 47-20 lead into the break.

The defense turned up the heat in the second half, as they only allowed Marianna to score 10 points en route to the victory.

Gracie Dodgen led all scorers with 27 points, while Morgan Quick added 14 points.

Van Buren 61, Gordonsville 27

The Eaglettes used a dominant second-half to take down Gordonsville 61-27.

After allowing 22 points in the first half, the Eaglettes only gave up five points in the second and used that to run away with the game on the scoreboard.

Emma Scoggins led the way with 15 points, while Riley Scoggins scored 12 points. Kaitlin Crain scored 10 points of her own.

The Eaglettes will be back in action next Monday against Jackson County.

Brentwood 56, Livingston Academy 42

A slow start cost the Lady Cats in their first game since Dec. 1, as they fell to Brentwood by a final score of 56-42 on Monday.

After only scoring 10 points in the first half, Livingston played better in the second half and scored 32 points, but it wouldn’t be enough for the victory.

Keaton Webb led the team with 16 points, while Hailey Cronk added seven points.

The Lady Cats will play again on Tuesday against the loser of CPA-Fairview.
