Johnson, Meadows Leads Dragonettes, Dragons With District Awards

The York Dragonettes and Dragons each finished top-3 in District 8AA, a notoriously tough district, and multiple players were award with All-District Awards accordingly.

Haylee Johnson was named to the All-District First Team for the third year in a row, and she was also a member of the All-Defensive Team.

The Dragonettes’ dynamic freshman duo of Ellie Leffew and Gabby Beaty wouldn’t be denied either. Leffew was named to the Second Team, and was named the Co-Freshman of the Year. Beaty made the All-Freshman Team, and was an Honorable Mention for All-District.

Sage Smith was also an honorable mention for All-District.

For the Dragons, Roger Meadows was named First-Team All-District, and he also made it on the All-Defensive Team.

Noah Smith joined Meadows on the First Team, his second consecutive year on it, and Nicolas Smith was named to the Second Team. Nicolas Smith was also named to the All-Defensive Team.

Riley Cooper was named to the Third Team, and Jon Heddings was an All-District Honorable Mention.

Head Coach Russell Tays was named the Co-Coach of the Year.
