Rush Named MVP Amid Slew Of Awards For Bees

The Upperman Bees and Lady Bees basketball teams earned a plethora of district awards, led by Alex Rush’s MVP award.

Rush was also named the Defensive Player of the Year for District 8AA. Collin Gore was named to the All-District First Team, and Isaiah Allen was named to the Second Team. Filip Babic and Jace McWilliams were both named to the third team.

Donoven McCallister was named to the All-Defensive Team, and A.J. Nash to the Freshman Team. Head Coach Bobby McWilliams was named the Co-Coach of the Year.

Class AA Miss Basketball Finalist Reagan Hurst leads off the Lady Bee accolades with her First-Team All-District nod. Sophomore Brooklyn Crouch joined her on the first team, and was also named the Defensive Player of the Year. Junior Torie Brooks was named Second-Team All-District.

Abigail Johnson was named the Freshman of the Year, and was an Honorable Mention for All-District. Aiyana Levy was also an Honorable Mention, and Jayla Cobb was named to the All-Freshman Team.
