Cavs Offense Struggles Against White Co In Rivalry Game

The White County Warriors boys basketball team beat Cookeville for the second time this season, Tuesday night in Sparta by a final score of 76 to 57.

White County extended a two point first quarter lead to a 12 point 36 to 24 halftime advantage. The Warriors would outscore Cookeville by seven points throughout the second half to push their final margin of victory to 19.

White County’s Grant Slatten scored a game high 26 points. Slatten hit seven of his nine free throws on the night as well. Kade Clark and Maysn Winningham each dropped in 12 points for the Warriors.

Braiden Brown scored a team high 15 points for Cookeville. Bailey Gilliam and Kosta Bikakis each added in 11 points.

White County improves their record to 19-6, and 5-1 in district play. The Warriors will play at Cumberland County Friday night.

The Cavaliers fall to 11-13, 1-4 on the season. Cookeville will host host Stone Memorial Friday night at 6 PM.
