Monterey’s boys basketball team avenged a heartbreaking loss ,earlier in the season, Tuesday night against Gordonsville with 58 to 50 victory Tuesday night at home.
Gordonsville battled back from an early deficit to take a 40 to 35 lead into the fourth quarter. Monterey’s Peyton West scored 16 of his game high 34 points on the fourth quarter.
West hit 10 of his 11 free throws and also four shots from behind the arch. West also dished out two assist and two steals in the game as well.
Noah Saylors added eight points and six rebounds for the Wildcats and Kevin Borjas contributed six boards as well with three points.
Monterey’s record sits at 22-4, and 10-2 in district play. The Wildcats play at Trousdale County Friday night.
