Stone Memorial Perfect In District Play With Win Against Cavs

The Stone Memorial boys basketball teammatched their girls basketball teams unbeaten start to district play, with a 64 to 43 win over Cookeville Tuesday night in Crossville.

Stone Memorial outscored the Cavaliers 19 to 4 in the first quarter. The Panthers went on to outscore Cookeville 45 to 39 over the final three quarters.

Zach Boyd led all scorers with 19 points for Stone Memorial and Zach Street added 13 points of his own.

Will Horner led Cookeville in scoring with 13 points and Bailey Gilliam dropped in 10 points also.

Cookeville’s loss drops their record to 9-11, 0-2. The Cavaliers will play again Friday night at Warren County.

With the win Stone Memorial improves their regular season record to 14-6, 3-0. Stone Memorial will play at Clrakrange this Saturday for their next contest.
