York Takes Down Lady Jets Basketball To Open Region

The York Dragonettes defeated the Cumberland County Lady Jets on Friday by a final score of 64-57.

Both teams struggled out the gate, and York found themselves down 12-6 at the end of the first quarter. Cumberland County added to the lead in the second, and the Dragonettes trailed by eight heading into halftime.

York found its offensive rhythm in the third quarter, as they used a 19-8 scoring advantage to take a 44-41 lead into the all-decisive final frame.

There, the Dragonettes closed out the victory on a 20-16 run to put the game at the final score of 64-57.

Haylee Johnson returned to form with a 29-point outburst, while Ellie Leffew added 19 of her own.
