York Basketball Wins Road Matchup Against Jets

The York boys basketball team (4-3, 1-1) saw a big first half lead slip away, only to battle back to defeat the Cumberland County Jets (7-4, 2-0) 67 to 64.

Offensively, York exploded for 40 first half points. However, the Dragons only scored eight third quarter points to fall behind 52 to 48 at the end of three.

York rallied to outscore the Jets by seven in the forth to sneak out of Crossville with a win.

York’s Noah Smith scored a game high 25 points. Smith drained all five of his free throws and he knocked down two shots from beyond the arch.

Roger Meadows added in 17 points for the Dragons and Nicholas Smith contributed 15 points of his own.

Cumberland County’s Reese Dykes scored a team high 16 points. Kole Torres scored 15 and teammate Mason Wyatt scored 14 points.

York plays again this Saturday against Elizabethton is the Stone Memorial Christmas Classic in Crossville.

Cumberland County will play The Kings Academy this Thursday at White County Middle School.
