Year One For Jr ROTC At LA Something Special

Any time a school or organization adds a new program, it comes with a learning curve, bumps, and issues.

Starting a Jr ROTC program at LA is no different.

However, the level of participation, the success the program has enjoyed already in it’s first year, and its projected growth are all due to the schools dedication and the people involved in the programs desire to see it succeed.

People like Colonel Reed, and two young promising student participants; Eli King and Audrey Stewart. King is someone who knows he wants to enlist, and is a legacy via members of his family. While Stewart is just 15, a sophomore, but already commander, proving her dedication, alongside King and his desire to forge a path forward for those behind him entering the program.

In short, as we caught up with Stewart, King, and Colonel Reed, it sounds like this amazing program is a rapid success and it is thanks to equally amazing people.
