Wildcats Win First Game Of Pickett Co Thanksgiving Classic

The Monterey Wildcats faced their first test of the season Friday against Oneida in their First game of the Pickett County Thanksgiving Classic. The Wildcats held off Oneida 74-66.

The scoring ramped up for bout units in the second half after each team put up 27 first half points.

Peyton West scored 37 points to lead all scorers. 21 of those points came int the fourth quarter when the Wildcats needed him the most.

West hit 16-18 free throws and he knocked down five three on the night.

Kevin Borjas scored 12 points for Monterey.

Monterey will play again Saturday afternoon at 3:30 against Smith County in Byrdstown.
