Upperman Baseball Has Two Bees Sign To Play College Ball

Wednesday morning was a special one for two Upperman baseball players.

They signed their NLI’s, national letter of intent, to play at the next level.

Kaden Shanks, an all-state utility player who can really play any position on the diamond, including being an ace on the mound, signed to stay close to home and play at Lipscomb.

His teammate and fellow pitcher, Wyatt Curtis, felt a connection farther east, and will head to Johnson City and play at ETSU.

I spoke with both young men, as well as their decorated head coach Wes Shanks, about what this means to them, and what it means to and says about, this program.
