Tuesday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Lady Pioneers Take Down DeKalb Co

Warren County 50, DeKalb County 40

The Warren County Lady Pioneers earned a win in their first game since Dec. 4 with their 50-40 victory over DeKalb County.

Shelby Smartt led Warren County with 16 points, while Erica Cantrell scored 10 points.

DeKalb County Freshman Ella Van Vranken led all scorers with 18 points, and Kadee Ferrell added 15.

Warren County is set to take on Moore County on Saturday, while DeKalb County will play Cannon County on Friday.

York Institute 44, Cookeville 42

The Dragonettes held a seven-point lead at the end of the first quarter, and held onto that lead for the rest of the game in a 44-42 win over Cookeville.

Haylee Johnson put together her best game of the season with a game-high 26 points for York, as they avenged a 73-42 loss to the Lady Cavs from earlier in the season.

KK Graves led Cookeville with 18 points.

York will now take on Smith County on Friday, while Cookeville will play Knoxville Catholic.

Clarkrange 65, Monterey 23

The Clarkrange Lady Buffaloes jumped out to a 24-11 lead after one and they ran away with the game from there, as they defeated Monterey by a final score of 65-23.

Kaylie Monday led all scorers with 23 points, while Kassie Monday added 13 points.

Monterey was led by Mackenzie Raleigh and Lindsey Wright, who scored seven points each.

The Lady Buffaloes will take on Trousdale County on Friday, while Monterey will host Van Buren on Thursday.

Clay County 71, Jackson County 38

The Clay County Lady Bulldogs won all four quarters in their district matchup against Jackson County on Monday, leading to a 71-38 win.

Clay’s Katie Arms led all scorers with 16 points, while Bella Ashlock and Briley Burchett each added 10 points.

Lilly Chaffin led the Lady Devils with 12 points.

The Lady Devils will host Red Boiling Springs on Friday, while Clay County will host District rival Pickett County.

Upperman 53, Livingston Academy 32

The Lady Bees earned a district win on Tuesday with a 53-32 win at Livingston Academy.

Reagan Hurst led the attack with 19 points, and fellow Senior Torie Brooks added 12 points.

Aleah Melton led the Lady Cats with 10 points.

Upperman will host Watertown on Friday, while LA will take on Macon County in Lafayette.

Pickett County 57, Red Boiling Springs 44
