Tuesday Night Girls Hoops Recap: LA Gets Off To Hot Start, Defeats Lady Tigers

Livingston Academy 71, DeKalb County 37

The Livingston Academy Lady Cats defeated DeKalb County on Tuesday by a final score of 71-37.

A hot start proved to be the ultimate difference, as Livingston held a 31-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. DeKalb cut that lead down to 40-28, but Livingston then held them to just two third-quarter points en route to the victory.

Keaton Webb led all scorers with 17 points, while Hailey Cronk scored 11 points. Aleah Melton and Halle Ledbetter each added 10 points.

Kadee Ferrell led DeKalb County with 15 points.

Livingston Academy takes on Macon County on Thursday, while DeKalb will hit the road to Watertown on Friday.

Clarkrange 66, Clay County 44

The Lady Buffaloes moved their district record to 9-0 with a 22-point win over Clay County.

Kassie Monday led all scorers with 20 points, while Chloe Howard followed close behind with 19 points. Kaylie Monday added 12 points.

Rachel Copass paced Clay County with nine points.

Clarkrange will be at Monterey on Friday, while Clay County will play at Jackson County.

Cookeville 74, Rhea County 34

The Lady Cavs continued their hot start in district play with a dominant 74-34 win over Rhea County.

Cassie Gallagher led all scorers with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Jordan Gillies scored 12 points.

Cookeville will be back in action on Feb. 2, when they host White County.

Stone Memorial 74, White County 62

The Lady Panthers weathered a fourth-quarter comeback from the White County Warriorettes on Tuesday, holding on for a 74-62 win.

Annah Goss led a balanced effort for Stone with 20 points, while Tessa Miller scored 19 points. Mattie Buck added 17 points.

Gracie Dodgen led White County with 22 points, and Mia Murray scored 13 points.

White County will hosts Warren County on Friday, and Stone will host Rhea County.

Upperman 73, Smith County 33

The Lady Bees are now 22-0 overall on the season with their 40-point win over Smith County.

Reagan Hurst led all scorers with 16 points, while Abigail Johnson added 14 points. Torie Brooks scored 13 points, and Brooklyn Crouch contributed 11.

The Lady Bees host the York Institute Dragonettes on Friday.

Van Buren 65, Richard Hardy 29

The Eaglettes now sit at 18-1 overall and 3-0 in district play after their win over Richard Hardy on Tuesday.

Layla Bouldin scored a game-high 14 points, while Riley and Emma Scoggins each scored 10 points.

Van Buren will head to South Pittsburg on Friday.

York Institute 54, Cannon County 28

The York Institute Dragonettes won their 11th consecutive game on Tuesday, this one over Cannon County by a final score of 54-28.

Gabby Beaty led the way with 14 points, while Haylee Johnson scored 13 points. Sage Smith added 10 points.

The Dragonettes will take on the Lady Bees of Upperman on Friday night.

Pickett County 58, Gordonsville 23
