Tuesday Night Boys Hoops Recap: Blue Devils Take Down Monterey On The Road

Jackson County 58, Monterey 56

The Blue Devils won their sixth district game with a two-point win over Monterey.

Ramon Cuevas scored a team-high 17 points in the effort, while Jordan Arroyo added 13. Eli Burris scored 11 points, and Chris Pigg scored 10.

Cayden Jones scored a game-high 25 points to lead Monterey.

Jackson County will host Clay County on Friday, while Monterey will host Clarkrange.

Clay County 71, Clarkrange 34

The Bulldogs locked down on defense in the first half and only allowed 16 points in a 71-34 win over Clarkrange.

Grant Strong scored a game-high 29 points, while Keaton Arms added 10 for Clay County.

Evan Cantrell led the Buffaloes with eight points.

Clay County will head to Jackson County, while Clarkrange will hit the road to Monterey.

Livingston Academy 59, DeKalb County 52

The Wildcats fought to the final buzzer to earn their third consecutive win by a final score of 59-52.

Matthew Sells led all with 21 points, and Nick Choate scored 18 points.

Evan Jones led DeKalb County with 19 points.

Livingston hosts Macon County on Thursday, while DeKalb will head to Watertown on Friday.

Pickett County 65, Gordonsville 36

The Bobcats are now sitting at 7-1 in district play after their 29-point win over Gordonsville.

Zach Amonett paced the Bobcats with 13 points, while Hunter Wattenbarger and Will Amonett each scored 12 points. Coleb Lowhorn scored 10 points.

Pickett County will play at Red Boiling Springs on Friday.

Upperman 74, Smith County 42

The Bees got double figure scoring from three different players in their win over Smith County.

Collin Gore led the way with 19 points, while Alex Rush added 18 points. Jace McWilliams posted an 11-point, 10-assist double-double.

Upperman will host York on Friday.

Cannon County 58, York Institute 57

The Dragons lost their first district game of the season on Tuesday in a 58-57 loss to Cannon County.

Myles Leffew led the Dragons with 14 points, while Riley Cooper and Jon Heddings each scored 12 points. Nic Smith added 10 points.

York will head to Upperman on Friday.
