Tigers Cross Country Freshman Advances To State

DeKalb County’s Aaron Gottlied finished in the 10th and final qualifying sport for state at the Region Three meet Tuesday in Cookeville with a time of 18:30.

“I’m really excited for how I did,” Gottlied said. “It was a really tough course and the competition was rough.”

Gottlied advances to the State Tournament on November 2nd at Steeplechase in Nashville.

“It’s tough to go to state at the high school level,” head coach Melissa Ruch said. “I knew he had a great shot to be in the Top 10. We don’t see a lot of the schools that we compete against in the Region Tournament throughout the year. So we are just looking at their times and you dont know what course they are on. This course here was a really tough one.”
