Thirty One Point Third Quarter Leads Panthers To District Win

Stone Memorial’s boys basketball team picked up their first district win of the season with a 79 to 51 win over Rhea County.

The contest was knotted up at 27 at the break. Stone Memorial knocked dow five of their 13, three’s for the contest, in the third quarter.

The Panthers would score an additional 16 points in the quarter to reach 31. Defensively Stone Memorial held Rhea County to only 10 points in the third.

Four Panthers scored in double figures against Rhea County. Zach Street led all scorers with 17 points for Stone. Chris Coudriet added 15 points and Zach Boyd dropped in 13 points. Hunter Wattenbarger rounded out the double digit scorers with 10 points.

The win improves Stone Memorial’s record to 12-6, 1-0 on the season. The Panthers host Warren County Friday night in Crossville.
