Quarantine and Answer: Eagles Tennis Mandy Hillis

Social Distancing is a phrase that will forever be apart of our vocabulary as we move forward. We are going to do a series of questions and answers with coaches across UC Sports Nation and how they cope with this unique time, not only in America but in the World.

Our next coach in the series is Mandy Hillis. Head coach of the Van Buren County tennis teams.

Question:

What’s the first thing you’re going to do or the first place you want to go after the quarantine is over?

Answer:

I’ve had Spring fever the last couple of days with all the nice weather. I would love to go to some green houses and start planting some flowers and work on my garden.

Question:

Watched a good movie lately?

Answer:

It’s mostly been my daughter and I at home, my husband is still having to work. We’ve just been catching up on some of our favorite Netflix shows and a few scary movies.

Question:

Have you read a good book lately?

Answer:

I haven’t. I do have some books that I’m excited to start reading when all the cleaning is finished!

Question:

What’s something fun you’ve done with family over this down time?

Answer:

We’ve tried to follow the governor’s recommendation to stay at home but we have gone to our local state park and played tennis a few times.

Question:

What does a typical day in quarantine look like for you?

Answer:

I’ve recently started working from home so I’ve been contacting parents and working on lesson plans (I teach 2nd grade as well as coach tennis). When I’m not working, we’ve been using our time off to do some spring cleaning.

Question:

What kind of music are you listening to right now?

Answer:

I listen to all types of music. Mostly classic rock though.

Question:

What are the meals consisting of at your house right now?

Answer:

I love to cook (just not the cleaning up part lol). I’ve let my family pick the menus so far.

Question:

How has your workout regiment been changed by Social Distancing?

Answer:

We’ve been trying to stay as active as possible. We live on a small farm so we’re usually just completing our normal chores.

Question:

Are you in your PJ’s all day or trying to get in more professional clothes?

Answer:

I usually spend my days at home in my lounge wear. Anything comfortable.
