Mr. Basketball Spotlight: Pickett County’s Zach Amonett

With the regular season for boys and girls basketball hitting the home stretch, we will be spotlighting different Mr. and Miss Basketball candidates around the Upper Cumberland.

Today, we take a look at Pickett County Junior Zach Amonett.

Amonett is leading the Bobcats on offense with a 24.1 points per game average, and he’s also averaging 5.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists as well. He scored his 1,000th point as a sophomore last season, becoming the fastest player to achieve the feat in school history.

Off the court, he’s the owner of a 4.0 GPA, a member of the school’s Beta Club and he scored a 27 on the ACT.
