LA’s Geist Finishes In 5th At State Wrestling Tournament

The Livingston Academy Wildcats were well-represented at Wednesday’s State Tournament, as Freshman John Geist finished fifth overall among the entire field.

Geist’s day started with a win over Carter’s Austin Weir, though he fell to Signal Mountain’s Peyton Worley in the next round.

He topped Greenback’s Logan Caldwell in the following round after earning a bye, and then Geist lost to Nolensville’s Nathan Montpool

In the fifth-place match, Geist took down Sullivan South’s Sean Clare to earn the top-5 finish.

Another freshman competed for the Wildcats, as Jacob Folker fell in his two matches to Nolensville’s Payton Bures and Creekwood’s Adam Anderson.
