Friday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Stone Takes Control Of Standings With Win Over Cookeville

Stone Memorial 69, Cookeville 39

The Lady Panthers held the Lady Cavs scoreless in the second quarter of their Friday night matchup, leading to a dominant 69-39 win for Stone Memorial.

Tessa Miller had a productive Senior Night, as she led all scorers with 24 points. Annah Goss added 19 points, and Katie Adkisson scored 12 points.

Alyssa Love, Cassie Gallagher and KK Graves each scored eight points for the Lady Cavs.

The Lady Panthers will take on Clarkrange on Tuesday, while Cookeville will take on Warren County on the road.

White County 83, Cocke County 53

The Warriorettes took down visiting Cocke County on Friday by a final score of 83-53.

After leading 34-29 at the half, White County outscored Cocke County 49-24 in the second half to take full control of the game.

Gracie Dodgen led the way with 17 points, and Nia Powers scored 16 points. Mia Murray added 12 points, and Morgan Quick rounded out the quartet with 11 points.

White County will host McMinn County on Saturday for Senior Night.

Clarkrange 89, Gordonsville 55

The Lady Buffaloes won their 14th straight game on Friday, as they took down Gordonsville by a final score of 89-55.

The offense got started early and often, as Clarkrange took a 41-17 lead at the end of first quarter. That lead ballooned to 62-32 at the half, allowing the Lady Buffaloes to rest their starters.

Addy Stowers and Kacey Sells each scored 17 points to lead the way, while Kaylie Monday scored 12 points. Lexi Pierce scored 11 points of her own.

Clarkrange will host Stone Memorial on Tuesday.

Clay County 54, Red Boiling Springs 28

The Lady Bulldogs took down Red Boiling Springs on Friday by a final score of 54-28.

Briley Burchett was the star of the show, as she led all scorers with 21 points and nine rebounds. Katie Arms added eight points.

Clay County will be in action on Saturday when they take on Macon County.

Warren County 79, Rhea County 34

The Lady Pioneers finished off a season-sweep of Rhea County on Friday with their 79-34 win.

Kyra Perkins led the way with 13 points, and Kam Nowlin added 11 points.

Warren County’s next contest will be on Tuesday when they host Cookeville.

Pickett County 76, Jackson County 40

The Lady Bobcats defeated Jackson County on Friday by a final score of 76-40.

The third quarter proved to be one of the biggest differences in the game, as Pickett County held Jackson to just two points in that frame.

Shayla Wood led the way with 14 points, and Abbi Bilbrey followed close behind with 13 points.

Nikki Ragland led the Lady Devils with nine points.

Jackson County will take on Trousdale County on Monday, while Pickett County will play Cookeville next Thursday.

Livingston Academy 44, Watertown 39

The Lady Cats took down Watertown on Friday by a final score of 44-39.

Keaton Webb played one of her best games of the season, as she scored a game-high 23 points. Allie Qualls added six points for Livingston.

LA will be back in action on Saturday when they take on DeKalb County.

Upperman 65, Cleveland 48

The Lady Bees took down Class AAA opponent Cleveland at home on Friday by a final score of 65-48.

Reagan Hurst scored a game-high 30 points for Upperman, 19 of which were in the first half. Torie Brooks scored 16 points, and Aiyana Levy added 11 points.

Upperman will take on Cannon County in Woodbury on Tuesday.

Macon County 48, York Institute 43

The Dragonettes hung around with the Tigerettes in Lafeyette on Friday, but fell just short by a final score of 48-43.

Haylee Johnson scored a game-high 20 points, while Gabby Beaty added 10 points.

York will have another shot at a district opponent in their next game, when they take on Livingston on Tuesday.
