Friday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Lady Buffalo Defense Suffocates Clay Co

Clarkrange 51, Clay County 26

The Clarkrange Lady Buffaloes gave up a single point in the first quarter and only five in the first half of 51-26 win over the Clay County Lady Bulldogs

Kassie Monday led all scorers with 13 points, while Kaylie Monday scored 12 points. Chloe Howard added 11 points.

Briley Burchett led Clay County with eight points.

Clarkrange’s next game will be against Oneida at home on Monday, while Clay will take on Gordonsville on Tuesday.

Cookeville 60, Pickett County 46

Cookeville used a 23-point second quarter to take control of the game in their 60-46 win over Pickett County.

Cassie Gallagher continued her excellent play with a game-high 19 points, while Jordan Gillies added 13 points. KK Graves scored 12 points.

Cookeville’s next game will be on Tuesday against Station Camp at home, while Pickett County will play at Monterey.

Warren County 69, Monterey 27

The Lady Pioneers held Monterey to just four first-quarter points in a 66-27 win on Friday.

Freshman Sable Winfree scored a game-high 19 points, while Brielee Kelsey scored 11 points. Erica Cantrell, Mia Hobbs and Brienne Kelsey each score nine points.

Mackenzie Raleigh led the Lady Wildcats with 10 points.

Monterey will play host to Pickett County on Tuesday, while Warren County will play at Franklin County next Saturday.
