Friday Night Boys Hoops Recap: Strong’s 27 Leads Clay Co Over Clarkrange

Clay County 58, Clarkrange 20

Clay County’s defense was the story of the night, as they held Clarkrange to single-digit scoring in all four quarters of their 58-20 win.

Grant Strong scored a game-high 27 points.

Anthony Cottle led Clarkrange with seven points.

Clay County will host Gordonsville on Tuesday, while Clarkrange will play Oneida on Monday.

Siegel 78, Stone Memorial 66

The Panthers trailed 46-29 heading into halftime, and simply couldn’t cut into the deficit in a 78-66 defeat.

Stone’s balanced scoring effort was led by Will Hecker’s 18 points, while Jack Eldridge and Zach Boyd each scored 14 points. Chris Coudriet added 12 points as well.

The next game listed on the schedule for the Panthers is on Dec. 17, when they take on Upperman on the road.

Warren County 68, Monterey 66

Monterey battled back from a 20-point deficit against Warren County on Friday, but fell just short in a 68-66 loss.

Tucker Phillips and LT Sullivan tied for game-high honors in scoring with 23 points apiece, and Cayden Jones added 10 points.

Dee Spates led the Pioneers with 22 points, while C.J. Taylor scored 16 points.

Warren County will be on the road next Saturday at Franklin County, while Monterey will host Pickett County on Tuesday.

Cookeville 79, Pickett County 66

Zach Amonett’s big night wasn’t enough for the Bobcats to leave Cookeville with a win, as they fell by a final score of 79-66.

Amonett scored a game-high 32 points, while Hunter Wattenbarger scored 16 points. Will Amonett added eight points.

Pickett County will be back in action at Monterey on Tuesday, while Cookeville will take on Station Camp.
