First-Half Defense Leads Lady Tigers Over Smith Co

The DeKalb County Lady Tigers finished their regular season on Thursday with a 45-32 win over Smith County.

The defense in the first-half allowed DeKalb to build a lead, as they held the Lady Owls to only seven first-half points. When the first-half buzzer sounded, the Lady Tigers led by a score of 22-7.

That was all the cushion they needed, as they cruised to the win in the second half by a final score of 45-32.

Mya Ruch led DeKalb with 11 points, and Kadee Ferrell added eight.

DeKalb will be the fourth seed in their district tournament at Watertown, which begins on Monday.
