Lady Panthers, White Co Finish Season With Showdown In Crossville

Two of the top teams in District 6AAA meet tonight, as the Warriorettes of White County take on the Stone Memorial Lady Panthers.

The two teams met a couple weeks ago on Jan.28 in Sparta, and the Lady Panthers dominated the final three quarters of the game to win by a final score of 79-41. Emma Capps and Tessa Miller were the stars of the game, as Miller led all with 19 points. Capps added 16 points of her own in the win.

This is a game that means a lot of for White County, as a win by them and a loss by Cookeville would give the Warriorettes sole possession of third-place in the district. Seeing as Cookeville is playing Rhea County, currently second in the standings, White County need only worry about themselves.

Gracie Dodgen will be the biggest individual key in the game for White County. If she gets hot from three, she alone can keep the Warriorettes competitive.

Maintaining offense after the first quarter will also be of the utmost importance, as White County kept Stone off-balance in the opening frame in the first meeting. Holding a one-point lead, Stone reeled off a 27-10 advantage in the second quarter to take full control of the game, and they kept applying pressure from there.

It all starts at 6 P.M. in Crossville tonight.
