Cumberland Co Holds Off Late Buffaloes Run

The Cumberland County boys basketball team picked up a road win Monday night against Clarkrange 69 to 67.

The game was tied after the first quarter and 17 and at halftime at 28. Cumberland County took an eight point lead into the fourth quarter and held off a 25 point fourth quarter, from the Buffaloes to hold on to win.

Clarkrange hit 24 of 26 compared to 17 out of 24 for Cumberland County. The Jets made eight, three pointers compared to five for the Buffaloes.

Mason Wyatt led Cumberland in scoring with 21 points. Jackson Inman added 18 for the Jets.

Nate Hall scored a game high 27 points for Clarkrange. Hall thrived at the free throw line where he hit 12 of 13 attempts.  Anthon Cottle dropped in 18 points and Keith Whited scored 16 points.

Cumberland County improves to 11-9 on the season and they sit 4-0 in their district. The loss drops Clarkrange to 4-15 overall and they own a 0-6 district record.

Cumberland County plays at Grundy county this Friday night and Clarkrange plays again Tuesday night against Gordonsville at home.
