York Takes Down Lady Cats Behind Johnson’s 28

The York Institute Dragonettes defeated the Livingston Academy Lady Cats on Tuesday by a final score of 61-43.

Tied at 10 after one quarter, the Dragonettes grabbed control of the game in the second by out-scoring the Lady Cats by an 18-7 count to take an 11-point lead into halftime.

The lead grew to 16 points after the third, and it was all the cushion the Dragonettes needed, as they earned a big district win by a final score of 61-43.

It was the Haylee Johnson show from the start, as she scored a game-high 28 points. Gabby Beaty added eight points, and Lilly Conatser added seven.

Keaton Webb led Livingston with 19 points of her own, and Aleah Melton scored nine.

The Dragonettes will be back in action on Thursday when they host Watertown, while Livingston will play at Cannon County.
