York Basketball’s Ellie Leffew on First Beach Christmas Tournament

During the winter break, many Upper Cumberland basketball teams are participating in tournaments around the holidays. The York Institute Dragonettes girls basketball team just finished taking part in the Frank’s Christmas Shootout in Sparta. After Christmas, the Dragonettes are making the trip down to Florida to play in a tournament in Pensacola.

Ellie Leffew is a senior at Alvin C. York Institute. This is the first out-of-state Christmas tournament the Dragonettes have been during Leffew’s time in high school. Ellie talks about why her and the team are looking forward to the on-court experience, but also looking forward to spending time off the court.
