Volleyball: Warriorettes Season Ends After District Loss To Cookeville

The White County Volleyball team saw their season come to an end on Monday after they loss to Cookeville in their second District Tournament match.

To get there first, White County was faced with Warren County in the opening match. The Warriorettes to0k the opening set by a dominant score of 25-11, before falling to the Lady Pioneers 25-13 in the second frame.

In the all-decisive third set, White County took it by a final count of 25-17. Lauren Turner and Nia Powers tied for the team-lead in kills with 11, while Lindi Smith led the way with 17 assists.

Against Cookeville in the following match, the Lady Cavaliers took the opening two sets by marks of 25-15 and 25-17, respectively. White County was unable to avoid the sweep, as Cookeville finished off a 3-0 victory in the final set by a score of 25-11.

The Warriorettes compiled a 10-10 record for the year during the regular season, and they closed the regular season strong with wins against Warren County, Rhea County, Upperman and Ezell Harding.
