Summer Rewind: UCSN Featured: York Institute Freshman Phenom Reese Beaty

As the summer rolls on, UCSN takes a back at the 2021-22 school year and sport seasons. In this series, we find our most viewed video from each school this year, and reflect on the time of the school sports calendar from when the video was first posted.

Today, we rewind on the York Institute Dragonettes girls basketball team. Specifically, then-freshman Reese Beaty.

When this video was posted, the Dragonettes were 5-0 versus district opponents, who they would finish the season unbeaten against. The Dragonettes would go onto become D5AA Champions, R3AA Runners Up, and Class 2A State Championship Runners Up. Beaty would go onto develop a key role in the Dragons’ gameplans.

FROM FEBRUARY 7th, 2022:

Friday night, the York Institute Dragonettes basketball team defeated district opponent Jackson County Blue Devils 52-16. With five district wins, York girls are unbeated in district games. Their next matchup is Tuesday versus the Monterey Wildcats.

Before the game, stand-out freshman for the Dragonettes – Reese Beaty – sat down with UCSN about her love for the game, how she developed her game, how the season measured up to expectations, and more.
