Spring Football Series: Stone Memorial

Make no bones about it, head coach Derek Samber and the Stone Memorial Panthers were upset.

Upset in the sports terminology form by an upstart Red Bank team on the Panthers home field in round two, but also just upset by the upset.

Coach Samber made clear you could and can see it from this senior class. It left a bad taste in their and his mouth. “No one’s goal is to get back to the second round” he remarked.

He was also quick to make it known though that in the end football is not the priority. Making great men, giving these young men ample opportunities, those are the goals.
