MHS Announces Changes To Coaching Staffs For 2021-22 School Year

Monterey High School Athletic Director Chris Buckner announced several changes to multiple coaching staffs that will take effect for the 2021-22 school year on April 7.

The first change concerns Volleyball, as Jeff Slagle will be replacing Scott Bilbrey as the new Lady Wildcats’ Coach.

Regarding Basketball, both the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats will play under new Head Coaches in 2021-22. First, the girls will be coached by Michelle Farley-Carson, and she will be assisted by Will Putman. This comes after Mark Sims’ resignation and a 4-22 season in 2020-21.

On the boys’ side, Lynus Martin will be replacing Adam West after a season that saw the Wildcats go 11-20 in the regular season before making a run to the region semifinals.

Martin will be assisted by Jared Phillips.
